 Not for the new MacBook Pro January 6, 2009
I purchased this cover as a Christmas present. Pretty disappointing! This cover will not fit the new MacBook Pro that was released in October 2008. I noticed that now that Christmas is over, they are offering "a new version" of the case. I'm assuming this is for the new MacBook Pro. You're about 3 months and many disappointed customers late.
The item did arrive in good condition and very quickly.
Excellent Hard Case Solution December 20, 2008
Purchased this for my wife's Macbook Pro. Fits snug, well constructed, and retains Macbook's streamlined appearance.
No cons other than added weight, which is minimal.
Definitely recommend this product for consistent scratch protection and good looks.

This case is great looking and fits perfectly onto a Macbook Pro 15", with appropriate cutouts for the power cord, USB cables, etc. I like the glossy finish and it really is clear enough that it's not immediately obvious that you have a hard plastic case over your laptop.
However, I have not been able to remove the top half of the case (the part covering the screen side of the Macbook) because it fits so tightly. This means I have no way of cleaning my computer or the case. Furthermore, while the bottom half is easy to remove, it has a hard and rough plastic edge that digs uncomfortably into my wrists, so I don't use that half.
Overall, I think the idea of the hard protective case is a good one, but it has not been executed in a way that makes it actually helpful or user-friendly.

I just got a new Macbook Pro, and my first reaction on seeing it was just WOW! It's gorgeous!
My second reaction was, now how long is it going to look this nice? No matter how you try, if you do anything around your computer that's human (like touch it, much less have a cup of coffee), it's going to start to show wear and tear.
The first thing I did was look for something to put on it that would protect it. I bought this case cover based on the reviews.
So you get it, unwrap it, snap it effortlbessly on your MacBook, and you're good to go. It's lightweight, but with enough stamina to stand up to the average bumps and bruises any working laptop goes through.
I got the clear one because I love the brushed stainless look of the MacBook. The sad thing is that, of course, the transparent cover lessens the "oomph" factor. The brushed stainless doesn't look nearly as cool as it does sans case.
That's to be expected - it is, after all, a protective shell! It's worth the slightly lessened glitziness to have the assurance that under the hardworking shell, my MacBook is just as gorgeous as the day I opened that box.
Highly recommend! (Now go get a silicone keyboard cover! Now! Do it!)
Exellent Product October 27, 2008
The Speck see thru case is an excellent MacBook PROtector! I have a similar device for my iPod and it did so well, when I saw this product, I had to have it. If you are looking to protect your costly computer from dings, scratches, and scuffs, this is the way to do it.
