The Kata H-16 XL DSLR Holster is the best case I have found yet. From the moment you see it you can tell its well made. The bag is soft, but still very rigid and protective. It can easily be opened and closed with one hand, and the "quick draw" configuration is very handing for getting those quick shots that you may miss otherwise. The contoured Kata Gecko strap is very comfortable and stays where its supposed to be, on your shoulder. The included reversible rain/sun cover adds extra protection from the elements if needed. The removable holder for extra batteries and memory cards is also very nice.
The main compartment is big enough to fit my Canon 40D & BG-E2N battery grip with an attached 70-200mm lens. The two side pockets expand into the case, and each can hold a 70-200mm lens, a pair of smaller lenses, or an external flash with no problem. With a smaller lens attached, there is room in the bottom of the bag for additional items. The clear pocket inside the lid is perfect for items such as memory card, cleaning wipes, and the like. Another small interior pocket is useful for holding extra batteries and body and lens caps. There is also an exterior pocket on the back, which I use to hold camera CDs and manuals.
I have yet to find anything about the Kata H-16 that I do not like. Big thumbs up to Kata on this one, I will definitely be purchasing Kata bags in the future as my needs grow.

I bought the Kata H-16 for my Canon 1Ds MkIII, the largest DSLR on the market. The H-16 is well made and servicable in most respects, and I believe will work with a standard DSLR with an attach 70-200mm zoom. It did not work so well with this large camera. The lip of the case dips down in the middle, right where the "peak" of the camera body is, blocking the camera and preventing an easy fit. I finally figured out that if I hold the camera backwards, by the lens barrel, and insert it into the case body first, the fat part of body can get past the bottle-neck at the top and fill the base of the case, which is the largest part of the case. This is goofy design in my mind -- backwards. Kata makes the bottom of the case the fattest -- where the end of the lens goes, and top of the case the smallest -- where you have the the camera body --- the biggest part of the combination!!??
