 Cheaper viable alternative November 13, 2008
If you're buying this lamp to replace yourself, you might as well go this route: [...]
It will take you 10 minutes longer and will save you 50% or more depending on weather you buy a Sony or aftermarket lamp.
It's very simple to replace the bulb inside the assembly.

Much cheaper than buying factory replacement. Fit and finish were excellent. I have a Sony 42" WEGA rear-projection LCD.

I recently purchased this product assuming that the warranty would be for a full year as seems to be indicated on the web page. When the package arrived the info in the package indicates a 90 day warranty. I was able to get in touch with Amazon and pointed out the discrepancy. Amazon was willing to adjust the price. This is greatly appreciated and I think is the right thing to do. The actual vendor has not even shown the courtesy of responding to my e-mail.
Keep shopping at Amazon but avoid this vendor.
