5 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised   September 25, 2008
I was expecting merely an attempt to exploit the success of class envy shows like Gossip Girl and 90210 (both of which I enjoy) and found a completely fresh take on the subject. I love the cast, I love the writing and I love the slightly lighter tone than others in the genre (enough to purchase from Amazon rather than just record on my DVR).

3 out of 5 stars Quirky but not interesting enough   September 19, 2008

Privileged is a show that is neither fresh nor interesting enough to put a new spin on the same old situations. Joanna Garcia (Cheyenne on Reba) plays a quirky recent college grad Megan. She wants to be a serious journalist, yet she is working at a tabloid magazine. After being fired from the tabloid, she becomes the live-in tutor to two rich girls (Rose and Sage), granddaughters of Laurel Limoges, a cosmetics businesswoman. Megan has to deal with these bratty, spoiled and somewhat annoying girls that can neither heed instructions or cease having vapid and uninteresting personalities. There are some romances going around, that are pretty uninteresting too, and Megan's estranged sister to add problems to her life.

The show is not that interesting although it has some funny quirky moments. I really liked Joanna Garcia's character (Cheyenne) on Reba and her character on this show shares some of the similar quirkiness (just a little smarter). It is indeed sad that the show itself is not enjoyable enough to justify watching it just for Joanna Garcia's character.
