Product Description
The Super Blu Player offers increased HDTV entertainment choices, because it can play 50 to 60 percent more high-def movie titles than either single-format player. With full networked interactivity available from selected HD DVDs, and the capability to handle networked "BD-Live" interactivity in forthcoming Blu-ray discs, it is the latest available technology that plays both disc formats. The LG Super Blu Player, which can output up to 1080p video resolution at 24-, 30- and 60-frames-per-second, supports various A/V formats, including MPEG-2, VC-1, H.264 video, MPEG1/2 audio, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, DTS and DTS-HD audio. The unit also includes multiple inputs/outputs such as HDMI 1.3 out, component/composite video outputs, digital optical and analog audio outputs as well as a LAN Ethernet port for network interactivity.LG Super Blu Player customers will enjoy superior quality video output with HDMI 1.3 Deep Color output to improve color tones and achieve finer color gradations to deliver the smoothest and most brilliant video output available. The player also features QDEO advanced video processing for superior up-scaling accuracy up to 1080p, improved noise reduction and consistent color precision. The new Super Blu Player incorporates LG's SimpLink connectivity solution, enabling easier control of other LG SimpLink compatible equipment. The units are connected with an HDMI cable and use the HDMI-CEC communication standard. This allows the user to control other components on-screen or directly from each component. The BH200 also is equipped with a USB Media Host for easy access to digital music and photo libraries.

1 out of 5 stars Buy extended warranty!   February 12, 2010

Player worked great for 2 years. Then the disc tray broke and it would cost $1085 to repair. The player cost me $700 brand new. Make sure you buy some kind of extended warranty.

1 out of 5 stars LG HD200   February 4, 2010

Other reviewers have expressed their frustration with this product, the LG HD200 all format DVD player. After one year, the
player just stopped playing. Stuck in "please wait" and then shuts off. Following the instruction book's advice on what to do, I was not able to get the thing to function. Contacting the manufacturer's US office did not solve the problem. I was advised to send it back to the ONLY place in the country...in ALABAMA. Product support for LG is non-existent.

Well folks, I just got back from picking up my LG BH200 from the repair shop. It broke down after 1 year and now I am told by a repair shop that was recommended to me by LG that the parts it needs are no longer available from LG, that they can't fix it and that I should just throw it away. So now, after paying over $500 on this piece of junk, I am stuck with a worthless object that is worth more in the trash than at my house. What ever you do, do not buy this product or this will happen to you too. Although I never trusted LG products, I thought I would give it a try. But, you can bet that I will NEVER EVER buy anything LG again!

Before even popping in a disc, updated the firmware through the unit's Ethernet with no problems. Tried an audio disc first, then a regular dvd (which looked wonderful, great up-converting here), again with no problems. Then came "Batman Begins" on HD DVD, played well, menus and all, with the Hi-Def I had grown accustomed to. Finally the Blu Ray "Kingdon Of Heaven." Beautiful. No issues on playback. Popped in Blu Ray "Ratatouille," with no issues. Even the delay on initial playback that I was warned of was not unusual or extended. Thing even has a USB jack for images & music. Now I got one box to play my digital media in the best presentation presently possible. It feels great that I won't have to buy another copy of "Battle Of The Bulge."

5 out of 5 stars BH200 = Excellent Product!   December 2, 2009

I am here on Amazon searching for a second BH200 for another room in my house. It's too bad they are long ago discontinued and now remaining new ones are going for $1,600 and used in the $700 range. I guess that says how good of a machine this is (although $1600 is far too high). Sure it's not perfect, but few if any are.

I have found lots of firmware on various forums for my machine, this is truly an enthusiasts player.

Highly recommended if you can find one.

If not, the OPPO BDP-83 is the current best Blu-Ray player available.
